Body Language - Barbara Almeida & Vinicius Pozzatti

Webitorial - - Posted:

The model in this editorial I Barbara Almeida, a transgender woman living in Milan for the past five years since she first arrived; she tried to be accepted in the Fashion industry in one of the most competitive fashion capitals of the world.

In January 2022, I started my master's degree in Photography, and during the master's degree, I started a reflection study associated with a social inclusion project.

After seeing Barbara on social media, I decided to invite her to come to London to be the model for a photo shoot.

The result was incredible, and she became news in several newspapers, magazines and websites in Brazil.

After that, she got several contracts with Italian brands that supported the cause.

I would like to thank KAVYAR.COM, BOUDOIR INSPIRATION and all the partner magazines that have supported and helped with inclusion without discrimination.

Signs of progress in trans and non-binary INCLUSION ARE EMERGING IN THE FASHION WORLD

Fashion is constantly evolving, and that meant becoming a more inclusive space in recent years. While transgender figures like April Ashley and Tracey "Africa" Norman paved the way in the 20th century, many trans models, designers, and activists are making waves in the fashion world. In honour of Transgender Awareness Week, L'OFFICIEL looks at 10 of today's most influential trans fashion figures.
